Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs... who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...The race begin...

Honestly, no one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!" "They will NEVER make it to the top." Or "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...

This one wouldn't give up!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

Then all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it? A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? It turned out...That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The moral of this story is: Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic...because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have. (There's life and death in the power of the tongue - Proverbs 18:21.)

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore: ALWAYS be POSITIVE!

And above all:
Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think: God and I can do this! Pass this message on to "tiny frogs" you care about.

Give them some motivation!!!

Avoid Gossip

Sometimes when we get together with friends, it's tempting to gossip about someone else. Be careful not to slip and speak badly about others; that's one of the most harmful things we can do! Not only can it hurt the person we are talking about, but it can also send a message to our friends that we can't be trusted.

(Friendship by Paige Jeary)

"He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbour no wrong and casts no slur on his fellow man, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken."
(Psalm 15:2-5)

Spend Time With Your Friends

Friendship is often built on time shared with each other. It's hard to get to know someone well in small bites of time. Talking on the phone and texting are great, but there is something about spending time face-to-face that brings your friendship to a more personal level. Carve out time in your schedule to spend time together, and remember to listen more than you talk!

A beautiful day

The sky in the morning was extremely beautiful! There is one part of the sky was like loads of clouds folding in. Kimmy said it looks like a mountain, a turnover mountain. Haha! Too bad I didn't manage to take a photo of it. I was too mesmerized by the beautiful sky. I thank God that He made such a beautiful sky for us to enjoy. In addition, today's Gkidz lesson was about - God made the sky on the second day. It reminded me of the morning sky.

There is so many things I want to buy now. I want to buy books, books and more books! I want to buy VCDs, VCDs and more VCDs too! Being stuck at home without anything to study and work to be done is so boring. So I have started a book which I have those newspapers that I've collected to paste inside and to find out which English words I don't understand. I really want to work in a childcare centre soon! Serving in Gkidz increases my interest to educate the toddlers and I love them loads!

Volunteer service and the main service was different. I want to watch how Rich Swingle preach the Gospel. It must be very interesting. The pastor in the volunteer service preached about how to experience a miracle in your life:
1) There must be a sense of great desperation.
2) There must be a spirit of genuine humility.
The bible passage was 2 Kings 5:1-17.

Bake, bake, bake! :)

Bake, bake, bake! Baking a new cupcake. Never try before but today we did it! But most of it was done by Kimmy, my sis. Because she said she want to do it, so I think I just help her if she wants me to help. It's quite nice:) Ok, I got to go to my lala land now~

Value Your Relationships

Life is really about relationships - with God, our family, our friends, and others He has placed in our lives. Relationships are the most important part of our lives. God brings special people into our lives and helps us develop close relationships with friends. Let's remember to be grateful for them and show we care by giving them our love, our time, and our encouragement to be all they can be.

Give Sincere Compliments

Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death." We can make others feel great by giving them sincere compliments, or we can destroy their confidence by saying something negative. Find something to compliment your friends about, even if you praise them for their hard work and effort. When you make a habit of giving genuine compliments, you can make people feel good about themselves.

Fantastic day

Wow! Went to church to pump ballons with pastor Pui Leng, my mother and pastor Kelly's maid which I have forgotten her name. Opps! The ballons are for the 40 DOF event. So cool~ All together is 336. Haha! Random stuff. The adults pump the ballons and tie it up but I'm doing all the running. Actually I don't have to run but I just felt like it and I want to hurry. It was a great feeling to run around again for so long. It's been so long since I sweat so much and I felt good. :)
Anyway Taffy is married! Haha! Random stuff again. Just for laugh. Don't laugh if you think it's not funny, because it will affect my production. Haha~

Your Body Language Speaks For You

What you say with your body language can speak louder than what you say with your mouth. You may say you are happy, but if you are smiling with your lips but not with your eyes, your face may be saying something else. Be as aware of what your body language as you are with your words. When they match, it helps people to trust you more.

A slight change of direction

I received a letter from the SEED institute. I was quite excited to know what is inside the letter. I thought it will come out positive, but they said that my application for the early childhood course is being rejected! I was speechless at that moment. It was like suddenly I was lost in direction. But my family reminded me that it's ok because God's plan is always perfect. Yes that is God's plan and I have to follow it.

Told pastor Pui Leng and she said that aunt Winnie's suggestion came in time. During sunday, aunt Winnie asked me about my education so I told her that I'm waiting to get in to a private course. So she told me that actually I can choose a preschool and start working there. Then slowly they will sponsor me to further my study. Think God is telling me to walk in that direction. But first I must have the knowledge to choose the right preschool. Starting as an untrained teacher might be tough but if it's God's plan, He will surely help me through. I just hope that wherever I go, I can bring God's kingdom there.

Greatly touched by God!!

David club N3 was fun. I was suddenly asked to do audio without any warning. Haha! During the afternoon, a bunch of Gkidz volunteers went for the ARISE praise and worship at Expo hall 1. It's for the children but pastor Pui Leng said since we are serving in Gkidz, why don't we just go and experience how the children praise the Lord. It's not exactly what she says, but the meaning is there.

During a skit that they perform, I was greatly touched by the Holy Spirit. It was about this guy who is being despised by others because he is not good in anything and people kept throwing rubbish at him, literally. The rubbish meant bad remarks and negative words that is spoken by others. But Jesus came and show love to us. He came to take away and 'stick' the 'rubbish' on himself in exchange we received His great love. I was so touched by the Holy Spirit that I want to cry out loud! There is so many times, God has been showing me how much He loves me. I'm so thankful for it that I want to shout out, "JESUS, I LOVE YOU TOO!"

I'm also touched by the song below, the song is being played in my blog. Enjoy it! I'm going to rest in the LORD now:)

My Redeemer lives

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
and Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
and Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives:
Let all creations testify
Let this, life within me cry
I know my Redeemer lives, yeah.

The very same God that spins things in orbit
runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creations testify
Let this life within we cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives forever, I'll proclaim

That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive and
There's an empty grave.

And I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creations testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer,

I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
I know that I know that I know that I know that I know my redeemer lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
I Know I know
He lives He lives yeah, yeah I spoke with him this morning
He lives He lives, the tomb is empty,
He lives I gotta tell everybody

Be Yourself

Be real, be yourself, and don't be fake. People can often see through the smoke and will respect you more if you are real. Being fake is being dishonest - both with yourself and others.. Being yourself means you have to know who you are, and sometimes that means making some changes. God will help you be the very best you that you can be.

Kindness Often Draws Friends

Author Leo Buscaglia says, "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." Kindess is powerful. When we step out of our comfort zones and think of others, we are often rewarded with new friends.

Another day that the LORD has made

Kawaii Taffy!!

Have a wonderful sleep last night, but I slept until 11 plus in the morning. Was quite tired and have a mild headache. Spent a few hours using the lappy then went for the children small group. Talked to Pastor Pui Leng about the Korea trip and after that I have a lot of thoughts going through my mind. Things that are related to my soul mate. Sometimes, I think too much and it make me headache. It make me don't feel like talking about it. I think I'm running away from the problem. But there is no problem, I think the only problem is I'm creating my own problem. Ahrx! Nevermind! I don't even know what I'm typing already.

It's so wrong when my photos are so cheerful but my post sound so down. Hahax! I think I'm having mood swing now. Ciaos~

Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

Sometimes we form an opinion about someone from what we see on the outside instead of what is on the inside. Our first impression may not be correct. We may also be influenced by what someone else says about a person instead of getting to know the person ourselves. Spend time getting to know new people who come into your life, focusing on their good points, strengths, and best qualities.

What a happening day I have

I was being woke up by a phone call in the morning. Somebody called the house and I answered it. I was stumbling around the room to get to the phone. I picked up and the conversation goes like this:

Caller: Jie Jie ahrx?
Me: (Wondering who is on the other side of the phone) Yahx.
Caller: Don't go back to sleep horx.
Me: Orhx.
Caller: Finished preparing sms me.
Me: Huh? Why?
Caller: Huh? Finished preparing just sms me.
Me: Orhx.

Isn't it hilarious that when I don't even know who is it but I still can have a 1/2 minute conversation with the caller? Back then I don't even remember that I need to ask who the caller is before answering the question. Then I went back to lie down on my bed. After a few seconds of turning around and feeling kind of weird, I went to find my mum and told her the whole scenario. I said it felt like a dream and she replied that it might be a dream. But after thinking about it, I went to wake my sister up and asked her. She said it might be Beelay and I have mistaken her calling me Jie Jie. She actually asked "Wake up already?" (=.=) I'm too used to people calling me 'Jie Jie' so I don't feel weird about it.

Then in the afternoon while I was using my lappy, my sis, Kimmy came home from school crying and saying something that I couldn't understand. I though I heard something like bullying. I though her friends bullied her, so I quickly rushed outside to find out what happened. I was relieved when she said that she saw a dead body. She was so terrified and couldn't get out of it. Then I was wondering what would my reaction be if I ever see a dead body. Would I go and find out whether is it really a dead body? Or run away crying like her? Or maybe I will just walk away like nothing happen? I think the third one won't happen because I'm not that unemotional.

This week's 40 DOF is being cancelled again. I've even thought of my testimony to say. Well, I think I've not been praying as hard as I'm in Korea. The attitude I have there should be in here in Singapore, in my room, in my daily life!!

Anyway I was quite disappointed at night. Today, Thursday at 10pm it was supposed to broadcast 'Drop Dead Diva' at channel 5. But instead of my Drop Dead Diva, they showed me YOG!!! I waited for it to show up after the program but it proceed to the 'Animals Planet' and then the news! How can they cheat my feelings like this?! They even showed on the Today's newspaper that it will be showing before the YOG. So disappointed that this kind of thing happen. The below photo is the proof from the newspaper.

Make Different Kinds of Friends.

Open your mind, and God can reveal to you the many kinds of friends you can have: One you can let loose with and another who lifts you up when you're down. One friend you love to just hang with and be yourself. One you can talk with about spiritual things. Another who shares your love for sports. These may all be wrapped up in one friend, but usually they're wrapped up in several.

Be Open

If we think all of our friends have to be just like us, we may overlook people who look or seem different. We may be looking on the outside instead of on the inside, where the true person is. For example, you may be surprised to find that people from a different culture or people who don't dress like you are very much like you on the inside. Look for the good in others.

Practicing english

Taffy look like a seal(haha)!

On the 16th of August 2010, which is yesterday(haha), I went for my aptitude test at SEED institute. So now I'm waiting for them to call me for an interview. I need an interview because I'm under 21 years old(=.=). Please pray for me that I can get into this course. Thanks! :)

Went to eat at bugis and shop for a little while. When my mother and I was about to go home, we decided to go to Haji lane. Guess what?! I saw the mediacorp actor, Elvin Ng Jun Xiong. He is so much more handsome in real life!! They were waiting for the rain to stop so they were just sitting down there. Too bad, there is only him. Wouldn't it be great if Jeanette Aw was there too?!

That night, I went to meet Mei Yi at Hougang mall. Can consider her as my long-lost friend. I know her since I was in primary 1! But in between the years, we didn't get together and lost contact due to my transferring of school to Charlton. We don't really know each other but we can chat for nearly 2 hours. She even introduced some jobs to me. Esther has job for me and she has it too. So I'm still considering which one to work. Or take both? Then suddenly today my sister asked me whether do I want to work at takashimaya as a fake promoter. So many jobs offering to me. By the way I called it a fake promoter is because they wear the tag called 'promoter' but they don't promote their stuff. They simply just stand there and tidy up their small area of clothes. They can sms and chit-chat with their friend. THEIR FRIEND you know, they can work together!

Anyway, I want to start practicing my english, so I deliberately write in paragraphs to make it look like a small composition. It's not that I haven't start practicing, it's just that I'm putting more hard works into it. I'm trying my very best not to type those short forms and singlish. So what's the next step?

iLove

"Marriage is made up of two people with different personalities. In order for it to work, God's character must be in both the man and the wife." quoted from Johanna Castellanos in 'iLove'. If we don't have God's character in us, you will find it easy to get into fights and quarrels, worst thing is to get divorce.

iLove is a book that inspired me to do great things. Things that God wants me to do. It is an interesting book that I love a lot, each and every page I read touched deep down into my heart. It teaches me about relationship from before to in the relationship. I believe what every youth should do is to patiently WAIT for their right one and not rush into any relationship their human mind think it is best for their future. Rushing without a second thought is the worst decision in the world.

FCBC 24th anniversary

Faith Community Baptist Church is celebrating our 24th anniversary. They showed us how they progressed from 1986 till now. The first few photos are the way they praise God during the first generation. It was so cool to be able to sing those old songs again. They sang the song "from the rising of the sun to the going down". I remembered it was my first Christian song that I've learnt. Hahax! Well, today Daniel Khong preached and his father was his interpreter. He talks about us being in the now and looking forward to the future which is full of God's blessings and hope. But if we look back to our past, we won't be able to receive God's blessings for us. So let us dwell on the now! SP Lawrence Khong once said that we shouldn't worry about 2 kind of days. Which is firstly, yesterday and secondly, tomorrow. We should only concentrate on how we are going to make use of today. Thus, LIVE IN THE NOW!!!

Pastor Eugene Seow commented on fb that YOG is Youth Of God.

What should I do?

I think I have started to hate staying at home all day long again. Staying at home and using the lappy is so boring. Watched a weird jap movie half way find it wasting of my time. Then YOG open ceremony starts today. I think it's better than National Day. Well, I think I've have wasted twenty-four hours that I will never have it again. I'm becoming lazier and lazier as the day pass by. I'm not making use of my day. Hmm~ What should I do? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!

Choose Your Friends Wisely

It's great to be friendly to most everyone, but when it comes to choosing your close friends, be careful. Doesn't it make sense to choose friends whose influence on you will be good? Make a list of the qualities you are looking for in a friend. As you get to know people, you will be able to tell if they have those qualities. Good qualities matter; they rub off on you.

A lesson learnt

Today I went to Northpoint to open the 40 DOF small group with Xin Ru.
Kai Xin was our one and only participants.
There is loads of things happened.
Firstly, Xin Ru's lappy don't have a CD drive.
Secondly, the webby for the video "You can be healed" load the video v. v. slowly. We loaded the video from 1plus in the afternoon till 3 plus!! still haven't load finish.
Thirdly, when it was quite late alr, Xin Ru have no choice but decided to buy the external drive, but it was too expensive for her to be able to afford.
In the end, thank God someone posted the video on YouTube and we watched it there.
Plus the video loaded v. fast.
So our 1st meeting was a success!!
Hehex!!
A lesson learnt: Remember to check the thing that you are going to use no matter how confident you are. :D

Take courage

Reach out and touch others. Talk to people. God can help you. "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" - 2 Timothy 1:7. God has not given you timidity. Shyness is something you can overcome! God has given you power (strength to do what you need to do), love (that focuses on the other person), and self-discipline (to persevere). Look for others that come into your world and be friendly to them.

(Friendship by Paige Jeary)

This passage speak to me a lot. God is telling me to overcome my shyness?!?! God, this thing, you SERIOUSLY have to help me!!! Hahax!
