It's great to be friendly to most everyone, but when it comes to choosing your close friends, be careful. Doesn't it make sense to choose friends whose influence on you will be good? Make a list of the qualities you are looking for in a friend. As you get to know people, you will be able to tell if they have those qualities. Good qualities matter; they rub off on you.
