Here is a great description of the best kind of friendship, adapted from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: "A friend does not envy, does not boast, and is not proud. A friend is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. A friend does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. A friend protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres."
