Barnabas means Son of Encouragement (Acts 4:36). Barnabas convinced the apostles not to be afraid of Saul (Paul) after God changed him on the road to Damascus. And Barnabas was the one the apostles sent to Antioch to encourage the new believers there to remain true to the Lord (Acts 11:23). You can be a Barnabas to your friends, encouraging them to be strong in their faith no matter what they are going through.
